Model THN Transducer
Measures Tension in Tight Spaces


The THN (thin) transducer is a strain-gauge sensing device used for measuring tension in web processes. Based on the design for the company's popular Model C tension transducers, but thinner, at only 2.4 inches wide, THN transducers work in pair and are mounted onto opposite ends of an idler roll shaft (dead-shaft or live-shaft).

The complete tension-sensing roll assembly is instaled as a desired location in a machine's web path. At just over 2 inches wide, the THN shares the low profile characteristic of other pancake-style shaft mount load cells, but robust design and reliability set the THN apart.

THN Transducers Capabilities

• Thin profile allows for easy mounting in limited horizontal space.
• Single-bolt mounting allows the transducer force orientation to be adjusted as desired.
• Idler roll can be removed without removing transducers.
• Rugged stainless steel and aluminum construction. Load ratings from 25 to 800 lbs (110 - 3560N; 11 - 364 Kg).
• Long-life semiconductor strain gages.
• Dead Shaft and Live Shaft versions.
