Senix® ToughSonic® ultrasonic distance sensors provide feedback signals that enable diameter compensation features in DFE tension and torque controllers.

TS Series ultrasonic distance sensors by Senix® contain a rugged transducer in a stainless steel case for a long service life operating in tough environments. When a proximity sensor is connected to a DFE tension or torque controller, it extends the device capability to enable programmable features such as taper tension or diameter alarms.

FEATURES
• Sealed for ingress protection rating IP68 for washdown applications
• Narrow ultrasonic beam to avoid unwanted obstacles
• Long 14-ft (4.3 m) maximum measurement range
• Short 4-inch (10 cm) deadband
• Simple pushbutton “teachable” setup of many features, and calibration using actual targets
• Analog outputs are adjustable anywhere in sensor’s range
• Security “Lock” prevents accidental mis-adjustment
• Unaffected by optical factors like color and transparency
• 3 rear LEDs display target, fault and output status
• Both voltage and 4-20 mA current loop (sourcing) outputs with teachable endpoints
