SteadyWeb 6™ Digital Tension Controller

A full-featured, automatic, closed-loop tension controller with an intuitive color touchscreen interface.

The SteadyWeb 6™ stable output and versatility is unmatched in web, wire and cable tensioning applications. It maintains a pre-selected tension set point on processing machinery by measuring web or filament tension from a tension load cell (or pair of load cells), and then sending a compensating signal to a torque device such as a pneumatic brake/clutch, electric brake/clutch or a motor drive.

The large, bright and colorful touchscreen user interface is so easy-to-use that your operators will be up to speed with minimal instruction and training time. Initial setup and configuration is fast with illustrated prompts and color graphics.

The controller may be used in unwind, rewind or intermediate tension zones. A variety of controller output modes are available:

Drive Output (D)
0-10 VDC control output (standard configuration) is used to control DC and AC variable speed drive systems. A 4-20 mA control output may also be configured. Both control outputs are isolated from earth ground to maximize drive compatibility.

Pneumatic Output (P)
Used to actuate any air-operated brake or clutch. The standard version includes a servo valve and pressure regulator installed in a separate open-back enclosure.

Voltage Output (V)
0-24 VDC compensated output @ 2.5A (standard configuration). An optional high-voltage module with 0-90 VDC output @ 5.0A can operate any electric brake or clutch of the same voltage range.
